Is It Safe to Get a Tattoo While Pregnant?
Although there are many precautionary things you have to know and prepare so that the process will be safe, there are still a chance that you or your baby inside you will contract infections.
More about that, but first, here are some of the things you may want to know before proceeding in getting that tattoo:
- The tattoo practitioner must be legitimate and registered. Some State really requires a type of certification in order to operate a tattoo parlor.

Can you get a tattoo while pregnant?
With all those reminders listed above for safety, are you confident now to take a tattoo while you are pregnant? Personally, I will not. The decision is still in you. Although there is a slim chance that you get infections (since a tattoo is an open wound), the same to happen to your unborn child is higher.
Hepatitis B and HIV are the most common infection that an individual can get in having a tattoo. With that I recommend that you wait until the baby is born before you get a tattoo. Or better yet, if you plan on breast feeding your child, to postpone having your skin art after you stopped breast feeding him. This is to be certain that the baby will be healthy and will not get the infection.
